What is KidSpotter?
KidSpotter is a “watch” type device, that is attached to your child’s wrist and is tracked by GPS technology, providing additional peace of mind to parents and guardians while visiting crowded areas such as theme parks and resorts should you and the child in your care become separated.
Why would you use KidSpotter?
Firstly in the US according to the Department of Justice nearly 800,000 children under the age of 18 are reported missing every year. In theory that means 1 child every 40 seconds! In Theme Parks and Resorts however, we believe the vast majority of children aren’t “missing”, they are simply temporarily unlocateable. This is where KidSpotter comes in.
An easy to use, child and adult friendly “watch” that is attached to the child’s wrist, the “Spotter” is matched to your child with a unique code and should you become parted, a simple text to a number provided by KidSpotter will locate your child within seconds.
How do I become reunited with my child?
The park Security team use tried and trusted procedures to locate your child, using KidSpotter technology. The KidSpotter support centre directs the security team to your child, and they are immediately taken to the KidSpotter Den, where they will be re-united with you.
Is it tamperproof – what if my child take’s it off their wrist? Could someone take if off their wrist?
Yes, we’ve all been there, children are amazingly adept at both putting things on and taking them off. The “Spotter” was designed so it would be difficult for a child to remove. However, once the “Spotter” is taken off our KidSpotter Support team are alerted immediately!
How much of the Theme Park/Resort is covered by KidSpotter?
This is agreed with the Theme/Park and Resort and clearly communicated to you when you rent the device. Typically we monitor as far as the boundaries of the Theme Park/Resort and if your child leaves the resort or park you are notified. The “Spotter” can in fact track a child all over the world if necessary. Once the device remains on your child’s wrist we can follow them.
What do I do if I become separated from my child?
Firstly don’t panic, try to remain calm! Easier said than done, however we will be able to locate your child in a few moments once you follow our easy to use instructions.
Every “Spotter” has a unique code. When you rent the “Spotter”, you will be given precise directions about how to activate it and what to do if you inadvertently become separated from your child. Firstly when you rent the Spotter, the parent or guardian texts a number to our Operations Centre who “register” your “Spotter” on their system.
From this time onwards, your child’s location appears on our system. Should a separation occur, a very short, and memorable code can be texted to our KidSpotter Suport Centre and they will immediately locate your child and bring them to the KidSpotter’s Den where you will be reunited.
There are lots of water-rides in the park – what if the “Spotter” gets wet!
The “Spotter” is waterproof down to 10m, so no ride is out of bounds!!
What if the venue is indoors?
